Editorial Standards
Recruiting news moves fast and often involves minors. These are the rules we hold ourselves to.
Confidence labels
Every recruiting story is labeled by confidence — Confirmed, Strong, Developing or Rumor — so you always know how solid the reporting is. A rumor is never presented as fact.
Sourcing
We attribute reporting, link to original sources, and describe facts in our own words. We do not publish unverified claims of fact about identifiable individuals. When we aggregate, we credit and link — we don’t republish others’ work as our own.
Minors
Most recruits are between 14 and 18. We report their public athletic achievements and recruitment, not private details. We decline to publish speculation that could harm a young athlete’s reputation or safety, and we honor reasonable requests from families.
Coaching & “hot seat” coverage
Job-security and carousel coverage is analysis of public information. Reporting that a coach is on the “hot seat” is not a report that anyone is being fired, and we say so.
Corrections
